For many parents, the transition into Primary 5 feels like a sudden shift.

One moment, your child is comfortably navigating Primary 4… and the next, everything seems to revolve around one word: PSLE.

And the truth is, that feeling isn't wrong.

Primary 5: Where It All Begins

Once a student enters Primary 5, the pace, expectations and depth of learning increase significantly.

In line with the MOE PSLE English syllabus, students are expected to engage with the language at a much deeper and more demanding level.

They are required to:

  • Read and comprehend texts with stronger inference and analysis
  • Write compositions with impressive storylines, clear structure, rich vocabulary and impactful expression
  • Articulate ideas confidently and clearly during Oral Exams
